Beyond the current proposed improvements to US 30, supplemental work has taken place or is being planned to address the roadway’s challenges, including:

INTERIM IMPROVEMENTS OF US 30 & DUGAN ROAD:
 

• Completed in 2015/2016
   

• Included resurfacing and reconstruction of the US 30 & Dugan Road intersection to provide additional exclusive turning lanes and traffic signal modernization
   

• Improvements helped to reduce congestion
   

• Intersection at Dugan Road continues to experience heavy peak hour turning movements that the existing intersection geometry does not adequately accommodate
  
   

KANE COUNTY DIVISION OF TRANSPORTATION EXTENSION OF DAUBERMAN ROAD
 

• Extends Dauberman from US 30 to Granart Road
   

• Includes a grade separation of Dauberman Road over the BNSF railroad and over US30 with a jug-handle type interchange in the northeast quadrant
   

• Phase I study complete
   

• Construction is targeted for 2021, pending funding availability and land acquisition

Public Invovlement

To assist in the identification of the issues and concerns and the development of the Purpose & Need, a Community Advisory Group was formed and met several times. The Community Advisory Group reviewed and provided input on proposed alignment and improvements. The Illinois Department of Transportation used the feedback provided by the Community Advisory Group in identifying the proposed improvements for the initial segment of US 30 from Dugan Road to Illinois 47.
